Abstract

A study to detect climate change using monthly rainfall data from 59 observation points in West Kalimantan has been carried out. Mann-Kendall statistical tests and Sens methods were used in this study. The trend values were shown in the form of spatial maps using Inverse Distance Weighted (IDW)  interpolation method. The  results showed that  West Kalimantan has a bimodal rainfall pattern (two peaks rain), with the first peak occurs in April, followed by the second peak in December. The annual rainfall in most areas of West Kalimantan showed a significant downward trend in the range of 1-70 mm/year. Rainfall in the dry months (June and July) increased significantly by 1-10 mm/month in most areas. Contrastingly, during the wet period (March, May and November to January), rainfall has significantly decreased in most regions, especially in the south and west part
