Abstract

The assessment of weather risks at ports plays a crucial role in maintaining safety and operational efficiency. In this study, weather risk evaluation at Teluk Bayur Port was conducted using a frequency analysis approach. Historical weather data, such as rainfall and sea wave height, were collected during the period 2017-2022. This approach was utilized to identify the statistical distribution of relevant weather variables. The analysis results indicated that the highest average rainfall occurred in November, reaching 528.55 mm, with the highest average number of rainy days also recorded in the same month at 21.5 days. Meanwhile, the highest average wave height around the port was observed in July and August, reaching 1.25 meters. This information can serve as a basis for designing appropriate risk mitigation strategies, such as scheduling more efficient operational activities, enhancing port infrastructure to withstand extreme weather conditions, or developing better early warning systems.
