Abstract

This study aims to analyze the characteristics of maximum rainfall and the return period of maximum rainfall in the Southeast Sulawesi region in order to anticipate the possibility of high intensity rainfall in the future. The study was conducted using data at 3 weather observation stations in Southeast Sulawesi. This study is a descriptive study to calculate the maximum monthly rainfall and rainfall return period using the Iwai Kadoya method. The results of this study indicate that the highest maximum rainfall occurs at the Kendari Maritime Meteorological Station of 213.3 mm/day. The range of the highest rainfall return period is at the Sangia Ni Bandera Kolaka Meteorological Station of 129-179.5 mm/day, with the maximum possible rainfall that has occurred repeatedly is 40-50 years.
